Captain America is awaken from suspended animation in a world ruled by the Nazis.

The giant Nazi robots known as "The Sleepers" emerged victorious due to the absence of Captain America at the side of the Avengers, the Nazis under the leadership of the Red Skull have since taken control of over half the world.

The Red Skull's largest oppose, Victor VonDoom, has found and awoken the suspended Captain America, and has put him in charge of a team of "heroes" consisting of Juggernaut, Titanium Man, Klaw, Attuma, Vulture, Abomination, and Grey Gargoyle.

But the personalities and violent nature of his team-mates quickly lead Cap to question their motives, and the arrival of a group of real heroes may expose Cap's team to be just as evil as the tyrants he joined them to fight.
